X-WiN provides the technical backbone of the DFN research and education network. With 10,250 kilometers of optical fiber connections and a multi-terabit core network between 65 locations, X-WiN is one of the largest and most powerful communication networks in the world.

We provide high-speed, 200 Gbit/s connections both nationally and with select European and global science networks.

With DFN-internet, video conferencing services, email support, and authentication and authorisation infrastructure we provide a number of customised services for the scientific community on the basis of the research and education network.
